- Ensure the file is in the supported format and contains all required product and inventory information before uploading.
- Select the correct Process Type (Catalog or Inventory) based on the type of data being imported.
- Make sure Custom Product File is selected as the Feed Type when importing a custom file.
- Click Retrieve Sheet Name after selecting the file to ensure the correct worksheet is identified.
- Carefully map all required fields to the corresponding columns in your file. Incorrect field mapping can result in inaccurate or incomplete product data.
- Ensure that SKU/Product ID values are unique and accurate to prevent products from being created or updated incorrectly.
- Verify that inventory-related values, such as Quantity and Price, are in the correct format.
- After clicking Import, always review the Import Report for successful, failed, or skipped records.
- If the import report shows errors, correct the source file and re-upload it rather than proceeding with incorrect data.
- After a successful import, verify a few products under Inventory → Manage Products → Products to confirm that the data was imported correctly.
- Do not proceed with marketplace feeds or updates until the imported product and inventory data has been verified.
